Pematang Gadung Community

The KMPGS community cooperative drives the restoration of peatland forest in West Kalimantan, safeguarding critically endangered species like the Bornean Orangutan and tackling threats from illegal mining and palm oil expansion. By strengthening local governance, conducting patrols, planting native trees, and monitoring for fire prevention, this community-led initiative enhances biodiversity, strengthens ecosystems, and fosters sustainable livelihoods.
