BioCarbon has developed a Biodiversity Crediting Program that establishes guidelines for quantifying and issuing BioCredits for initiatives worldwide, including conservation activities, preservation, ecological restoration (at the landscape scale), and sustainable use of biodiversity and its specific actions. BioCredits are rigorously quantified to ensure their impacts are accurate, measurable, additional, and permanent, with technical accuracy, integrity, and transparency.
The Program provides access to mechanisms for certification, registration, and issuance of voluntary biodiversity credits. It promotes a model for biodiversity management and encourages the participation of public and private stakeholders who are interested in conserving ecosystems and biodiversity.
